Domestic Lab Rat

As a scientist, I am constantly examining the world around me. My curiosity inspires me to try and understand why things work the way they do, and I often find my answers in chemistry, biology, and physics. By teaching you some basic principles of science, I will empower you to use knowledge to your advantage. For instance, did you know that heat travels faster through liquid than through either solid ice or freezing cold air? This is really important, but why? Well, if you want to chill a bottle of wine or beer, don’t put it in the freezer – dunk it in ice water, and it will be cold in just a few minutes. Think of this website as a scientific survival guide of sorts. Scientific techniques can help you accomplish tasks faster, cheaper, or in a more environmentally friendly manner.
